Family Life Center's Healthy Living Program powerfully demonstrates how our present actions create our future circumstances.

Respect and care for our bodies and healthy lifestyle choices are more than just the foundation for our physical health.

They are also tangible examples of how values, motivation, education and discipline combine to make us who we are in every aspect of our lives.

As a result, the internal obstacles of helplessness and hopelessness that bind so many of our students begin to be replaced by a sense of empowerment, a feeling of hope and an ethic of self-responsibility.

 

 

 

Program components include:

  • Individual health and fitness assessments

  • Guidelines for safety

  • Healthy balanced diet

  • Nutrition education

  • Relaxation training, stress management
    and yoga

  • Aerobic and anaerobic exercise
    classes

  • Health education classes

  • Sports and fitness classes

  • Resistance and weight training

  • Counseling for addictive patterns including substance abuse and
    eating disorders
